Indigo, rather than a real colour, is a shade born from the union of blue with purple. It's a very elegant hue which well suits this month. In February, as we all know, two important events occur: Saint Valentine's Day and the last cold winter days. During this time of the year we prepare ourselves for rebirth, we cuddle up so that spring may find us ready to bloom and, for this very reason, indigo is our best ally!
From an emotional point of view, in fact, it's a colour which can influence our deepest emotional sphere: it stimulates our empathy and enhances our listening skills. Is there anything better than a partner mindful of his beloved's needs for the most romantic night of the year? In addition, thanks to its relaxing properties, indigo is perfect for meditation: a thing which is good to be aware of for those wishing to look after and cuddle not only others, but also themselves!
On a physical level, chromotherapy uses these relaxing properties to lower energy overloads due to periods of intense stress; but they are also used to subdue an increase in body temperature, which is why it is very useful in case of sun-stroke or during menopause. The great properties of this colour can be found in all five our senses: chromotherapy uses indigo to cure sight problems, like conjunctivitis, or eczema and skin rashes.
The only cases in which it is best not to use this colour is with individuals who tend to burden themselves with everyone's problems, introspective people who often suffer from anxiety attacks or nightmares. On the other hand, we recommend anyone who needs to relax and communicate with his most sensitive side, thus improving his own self-perception and relationship with others, to use this elegant colour!
