LOOKING AT THE FUTURE - Interview with Régis Boudon-Doris
fter 2020, the time has come to discuss a year that has reserved numerous challenges. We talked about it with decision makers in the SPA, Beauty and Wellness market to whom we asked for suggestions and strategies for 2021.

A global consulting company dedicated to WELLNESS & SPA projects, which focuses on the success of its customers, investors, entrepreneurs and architects. Because creating a successful SPA is increasingly complex, demanding and nothing can be left to chance.

It's been 6 months since the previous interview. How has the vision of the future of the sector changed since then?

It was 6 months of roller coasters where good and bad news followed each other at a hellish pace and obviously our sector was no exception. However, I would like to point out the good news that reassured me after the first lockdown: as soon as the SPAs reopened the customers came back, they responded with a huge "PRESENT", confident and serene with respect to the security offered by our facilities. This fact unquestionably has strengthened my certainty that those who offer Wellness & SPA have a great future ahead of them, because the request for well-being can only be strengthened by this pandemic experience and consequently we will have more and more investors and entrepreneurs who will need our services to seize this terrific opportunity.

Will this pandemic change the concept of well-being and the places dedicated to it in everyday life and on vacation?

Certainly yes, first of all by making the need for wellness "universal". Spas will no longer be a luxury item, but will increasingly be a basic necessity. This will imply another change: the affirmation of SPA "LowCost" (attention not LowQuality!) To make wellness an "indispensable" service for the quality of life and prevention. As a result, new structures for daily use will be created, from large City Spas, close to large cities or geographical areas with large basins of potential users, with an offer ranging from prevention and treatment spaces, such as holistic clinics, to to totally playful spaces; a wide range of services and treatments all characterized in equal measure by ease of use and high quality. We have been working with our main Partners for many months on the development of this Concept. The pandemic has only accelerated this process, with the development of a format that we will begin to offer to investors as early as the first quarter of 2021. For holidays, the choice of destinations will increasingly take into account the wellness offer available in large or small accommodation facilities , in winter or in summer, in the mountains or at the sea. Having or not having a wellness offer will increasingly be a discriminating factor in the choices made at the time of booking. But beware, the offer must not be pure marketing action, but structural, with a 360 ° integration of the wellness dimension in reality and in the accommodation offer.

The Wellness & SPA "decision makers", like you, what will they have to invest in immediately to harness and manage the changes generated by COVID-19?

Innovation will be the key word for the investments of our companies, with an increasingly important R&D budget, for a strategy that aims to anticipate change rather than undergo it, managing the processes that will lead the wellness offer to be increasingly an integral part of the everyday life. Fortunately, in bbspa innovation is part of our dna, even for my aversion to routine and so we are now, for example, after 3 years of R&D, with a project ready to be launched on the market perfectly in line with "l'air dutemps". It is 100% YOU.NIFORMS a line of professional clothing for health and wellness operators patented and certified by us as an individual protection device (PPE) and as a class 1S medical device, a line that combines technological innovation, with the use for first time in this field of 100% polypropylene fabrics developed by us, which are a guarantee of unprecedented performance in terms of hygiene, practicality, comfort and environmental sustainability, all 100% Made in Italy from design to production. And we will not stop there: we will bring our customers other innovations during this year, the result of the investments of the past years, including all the work set in 2020!

Finally, same question as 6 months ago: optimistic or pessimistic and why?

Optimistic without a doubt, that's my nature! Because even if we will certainly have several complex months ahead of us, the future will be characterized by an exponential and worldwide demand for wellness by an increasing number of inhabitants of our planet. Consequently, for a company like bbspa & partners the future can only be bright. We are among the few to boast a 360 ° specialist know-how, international and with a network of synergistic partners, with whom we can respond to every need of investors and entrepreneurs, in order to assist them in any type of Wellness & SPA project ... successfull!
